On Monday, March 20, 2023, the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a rule to make minor corrections and updates to the contact information contained within the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Summary of Consumer Rights. While these changes go into effect on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, the mandatory compliance date for incorporating these changes into the Summary of Consumer Rights provided to candidates is Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Sterling will be updating the Summary of Consumer Rights available for candidates via SterlingONE by the mandatory compliance date of Wednesday, March 20, 2024. If you have business processes that require sending a candidate a Summary of Consumer Rights independent of Sterling (such as in your applicant tracking system), please be sure that you are using the most current version of the form available in the Compliance Resources section of our corporate website here.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have about this change. Thank you for your continued trust in Sterling.
