Hurricane Helene is expected to make landfall in the US on Thursday evening, September 26, 2024, impacting the west coast of the Florida Peninsula and Florida’s Big Bend, where the panhandle meets the peninsula. The predicted path of the hurricane may impact a broad area including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. 61 Florida counties are currently under a state of emergency and are expecting dangerous travel conditions, widespread flooding, and power failure.  As a result of the storm:

  • Criminal, civil and verification searches with external dependencies may experience delays.
  • U.S. identity support sites in the impacted area may be closed – users may experience higher than normal wait times at nearby locations outside of the storm impact area.
  • Drug and health testing may be delayed as clinic sites and laboratories in the impacted area may be closed until conditions are safe.
    • Specimen transit times are expected to be impacted due to flight delays and cancellations.
    • Certain clinics, including Quest, have issued a notice recommending delaying T-SPOT tuberculosis testing until Friday, September 27, 2024, due to the potential for shipping delays which can invalidate the specimens.
    • We also recommend that candidates and employees call their chosen clinic site to verify hours of operation before visiting.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your patience.
