On Wednesday, January 19, 2022 we reported that access to records for county criminal and civil searches requiring in-person research in Santa Clara county, California was limited until Monday, January 31, 2022 due to the sharp rise of Covid-19 cases and its impact on the county court’s staffing. The Santa Clara County Courthouse is now re-opened for in-person research. Criminal and civil services for Santa Clara county are expected to return to an average turnaround time of 2 to 4 weeks. However, since Santa Clara county was already experiencing delays due to the California state removal of public access to full date of birth information and the resulting increased requirement for in-person research, we are unable to provide an estimate of when this average turnaround time will return. Please note that delays associated with the Santa Clara county court closure and in-person research requirements are impacting court researchers and screening companies industry wide. Thank you for your patience.
