Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in the US on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2024, impacting west-central Florida. Milton is the second hurricane to hit this area in less than two weeks. In anticipation of the hurricane’s impact, several of our drug and health network partners have issued a “Do Not Draw” alert for T-SPOT® TB tests starting today, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 and ending Thursday, October 10, 2024 due to specimen instability concerns. Since many clinics do not draw for T-SPOT® TB tests on Fridays, draws for these tests in most clinics will resume Monday, October 14.
Hurricane Milton is expected to create dangerous travel conditions, widespread flooding, and power failure in an area still devastated from the previous storm. As a result of the incoming storm:
-
-
- Criminal, civil and verification searches with external dependencies may experience delays.
- US identity support sites in the impacted area may be closed – users may experience higher than normal wait times at nearby locations outside of the storm impact area.
- Drug and health testing may be delayed as clinic sites and laboratories in the impacted area may be closed until conditions are safe.
- Specimen transit times are expected to be impacted due to flight delays and cancellations.
- Candidates should be instructed to postpone any T-SPOT® testing until Monday, October 14.
- If needed, registration expiration dates may be extended to allow extra time to complete services.
- We also recommend that candidates and employees call their chosen clinic site to verify hours of operation before visiting.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your patience.
