Improvements to AWS provider issue

As of 5:00 p.m. ET, some Sterling clients and candidates continue to experience intermittent system and service issues due to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage that started at 2:50 p.m. ET on June 13, 2023. The situation is improving across our systems and services, and some clients and candidates are now able to login into their Sterling accounts.

AWS provider outage causing Sterling login issues

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at approximately 2:50 p.m. ET, you may have started experiencing Sterling system and service issues due to an outage from our AWS provider. As a result, clients are unable to access their Sterling account and candidates are unable to access the Candidate Portal.

We are in communication with our cloud service provider, who is actively working to resolve issues. We will continue to share updates and appreciate your patience.

Intermittent system latency is now resolved

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, between 8:08 p.m. to 8:37 p.m. ET, clients and candidates may have experienced intermittent latency and/or order submission issues in Canada. If you received an error message while placing an order, it will need to be resubmitted for processing.

System performance has resumed normal expectations, and all orders may now be placed successfully. 

Intermittent system delays have been reported

As of 8:08 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 30, 2022, Sterling is experiencing an intermittent system issue in Canada. At this time, clients and candidates in Canada may experience intermittent error messages and latency when submitting orders.

We are actively investigating this incident with urgency and priority. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will share updates as they become available. Thank you for your patience.

Canada identity verification provider issue now resolved

From Monday, April 25, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. ET to Tuesday, April 26, 2022, you may have experienced a Canadian Criminal Record Checks (CCRC) service disruption, specifically in regards to Canada Post identity verification. Candidates were able to complete the Canada Post identity verification process, but results were delayed.

We worked with our third-party service provider with urgency and they restored on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. We are anticipating 24 to 48 hour turnaround time delays, and will continue to monitor. Thank you for your patience.

As of Monday, April 25, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. ET, we are currently investigating reports of a Canadian Criminal Record Checks (CCRC) service disruption, with regards to Canada Post identity verification. Candidates are able to complete the Canada Post identity verification process, but results will be delayed. We are in communication with our Canada Post provider, who is actively working to resolve. We apologize for any inconvenience and will post another update as soon as we learn more.
