Equifax The Work Number® rate increase on January 1, 2025

Our service provider has informed Sterling that they are raising the rate for their employment verification services, The Work Number®.

The new pricing takes effect as of January 1, 2025 and you will see these changes in your February 2025 invoice for January 2025 orders. To learn more, please log into your account, click on Help and Resources, and click on Important Service Updates.

Upcoming scheduled 2 week long Social Security Administration system maintenance to cause CBSV processing delays starting Thursday, December 12

As an update, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will be conducting upcoming system maintenance on its Consent Based Social Security Number Verification (CBSV) service for approximately two weeks now starting 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 12, 2024 until Monday, December 30, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. ET.

Previously, the SSA had informed us they would be starting the maintenance at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, December 13, 2024.

CBSV records will be unavailable during the maintenance period. As a result, CBSV requests placed during this timeframe will be delayed until the system is restored. We will be monitoring the SSA progress so that we can reinstate fulfillment as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Department of Justice National Sex Offender Public Website experiencing intermittent state-source outages resulting in service delays

Starting Thursday, November 21, 2024, the Department of Justice (DOJ) National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW) is experiencing intermittent state-source outages that are impacting record access. As a result, NSOPW sex offender searches have been delayed.
With current online source access, we anticipate we will clear the search backlog by start of business, Tuesday, November 26, 2024. We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available.  Thank you for your patience.

As a result, CBSV services ordered during the maintenance period will be delayed until the system is restored.

Access to Washington county and state criminal and civil online record source restored

Effective Monday, November 18, 2024, access to Washington county and state criminal and civil online records is restored, and the backlog is expected to cleared by end of business, Monday, November 25. Previously, we had reported that starting Monday, November 4, 2024, Washington county and state criminal and civil records were unavailable due to a technical issue with their information system.

Access to San Joaquin County, California criminal and civil court records now restored

Effective Friday, November 15, 2024, access to criminal and civil records in San Joaquin County, California is restored, and the search backlog is expected to cleared by end of business, Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Previously, we had reported that starting Thursday, October 31, criminal and civil record data for San Joaquin County was unavailable due to a technical issue with their information system.
